Prior to his 1978 Juris Doctorate from Baylor, Jason Searcy graduated cum laude in 1976 from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism degree.

Jason Searcy lived a Tom Sawyer life growing up in New London, Texas. Dad was a 40-year employee of Exxon, and Mom corralled the boys with a long rein and a very definite dinner time. Jason learned to shake hands firmly and look others straight in the eye. Be fair, be honest, don’t lie and work harder than anyone around you.

This life lesson forms the foundation of his law practice.

Mr. Searcy has successfully tried numerous civil cases including those involving breach of contract, oil and gas, patent, antitrust, fraud, employment, civil rights and municipal law.

He is one of the leading bankruptcy reorganization practitioners in Texas and has represented debtors, creditors, creditor committees and trustees in all phases of complicated Chapter 11 proceedings. He is regularly selected to serve as Chapter 11 Trustee and examiner for cases throughout Texas and Louisiana.

Jason Searcy is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Fifth and Second Circuit Courts of Appeal and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas.
