Over 25 years of civil litigation and bankruptcy reorganization
experience have proven Jason
Searcy to be one of the preeminent
lawyers. A graduate of the nationally
recognized trial preparation
curriculum of Baylor University
School of Law, Mr. Searcy has
focused his practice on complex
litigation and bankruptcy reorganization
proceedings.
He began his practice in Marshall, Texas with the law firm of
Abney & Baldwin. He later became a partner in Sharp, Ward, Price and
Searcy. Now, Mr. Searcy is the
senior attorney in Searcy
& Searcy,
P.C., located in Longview, Texas.
Jason
is well-respected in the legal

His
parents understood the value
of hard work and education.
He mowed lawns, built fences,
worked
on plant farms and in the oil
field. Graduating as the valedictorian
of West Rusk High School, Jason
secured college scholarships
and worked his way through college
and law school. Prior to his
1978 Juris Doctorate from Baylor,
Jason Searcy graduated cum laude
in 1976 from The University
of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor
of Journalism degree.
Jason
Searcy lived a Tom Sawyer life
growing up in New London, Texas.
Dad was a 40-year employee of
Exxon, and Mom corralled the
boys with a long rein and a very
definite dinner time. Jason learned
to shake hands firmly and look
others straight in the eye. Be
fair, be honest, don’t lie and
work harder than anyone around
you.
This
life lesson forms the foundation
of his law practice.
Mr.
Searcy has successfully tried numerous civil cases including those involving breach of contract, oil and gas, patent,
antitrust, fraud, employment,
civil rights and municipal law.
He
is one of the leading bankruptcy
reorganization practitioners in Texas and has represented debtors, creditors, creditor committees
and trustees in all phases of
complicated Chapter 11 proceedings. He is regularly selected to serve as Chapter 11
Trustee and examiner for cases
throughout Texas and Louisiana.
